Plateumaris frosti is an aquatic leaf beetle widely distributed in Canada and the adjacent United States. It is found in emergent vegetation in swamps and marshes. A small beetle (6-8 mm) with a shiny black elongated body, and the antennae longer than in most other chrysomelids. The larva is fully aquatic. This species feeds on sedges (Cyperaceae). Identification to the species level is tentative.
